Show us your Geckos!

She’s either not locked with new male and retained from old male, or new male for spots in line somewhere.

Did you witness a lock?

I get what you mean, and funny enough I’ve read about people in us not doing bugs? Unsure why really as it’s actually majority or diet in wild…

There’s many examples already of people doing it though.

I’ve seen people say bugs make them obese. When actually if you look those people saying it, they keep in tiny enclosures where the Crestie has no room at all to move or climb, hardly anything in there etc. it’s upsetting…
they’re following many breeders in asia… small enclosures meaning they can keep and bulk breed more. It’s awful :pensive:
So that’s why they have fat cresties too… no room for the poor things…

I did see them lock once. The male is younger, so I don’t know if that’s the issue. He always hides whenever he sees me (previous owners had the same problem), so I haven’t been able to weigh him (and I didn’t think about it when moving him).

I know that a big appeal to cresties here is that they don’t need to eat bugs (I’ve heard this from a ton of people). I think it’s just common knowledge and practice here that bugs are like UV, not necessary, but helpful, so most people only feed bugs every couple weeks or not at all.

Do you know how old?
Oh bless him, was gonna say you could always weigh a tub, then put him in and weigh again.

So strange isn’t it! Fly across the ocean and things change

Here it’s 2/3 a week, then again none of mine are fat or overweight luckily.

No, all I know is that he was 30g in early March.

Just to chime in in regards to the whole insect thing. I assume Gargs are the same there, as cresties right? I got my garg from a very reputable breeder here in the US, and he basically hasn’t touched insects since he was born. He’s been offered a few times but always ignores them.

He just gets fed the Pangea flavors that have insects in them. He’s around 45-50g and a healthy boy.

Gargs are same yeah.

Though I’ve found many gargs are a pain with bugs. I’ve had gargs myself and they either loved bugs or looked at me like I was stupid when I put any in with them :joy:

I’ve found theyre more fussy.

Welcome!
Cresties are the best imo :star_struck:

So mums a harlequin pin dash with Dal spots.

Dads not a charcoal I’m afraid, he’s phantom Dal. Looks to be red. He also has FTS so keep an eye on that.

Lovely babs, a Harley pin and Harley partial pin, both will gain or have Dal spots (can’t see from pics)

I think i posted pics of the old male that i bred her with thats my ex friends pet so thats my bad but second set of pics is the new male i bought from here

Yeah you posted a different male. :joy:

Being a reputable breeder means nothing with FtS. Any gecko can get it unfortunately :pensive:

He’s a dark bicolour Dalmation.
Charcoal is just a line of dark phantoms, that someone named charcoal. So if from that main persons line then yes he could be one, If he’s not from the main line someone named then he’s just dark. Also dip in base so pos FTS with him too x

I’ll be naming my darks when breeding my own as I’d like to have a name to mine

Oh I thought i read something where theres a possibility that charcoal is its own morph and u can prove it with breeding, also thought i watched a video from tikis geckos about it being up in the air about if it is or not. And ive watched videos going over fts and i dont think he has it but i could be wrong they’re the first adults ive bought or seen in real life so i dont have very many references😅

Not it’s own morph no.
It’s a dark phantom line that someone named

FTS the tail will slightly or severely flop when gecko is on glass upside down say, the males have a dip at end of tail which is usually a sign x

You’ll just have to save up for now :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:

I hate the wait but I feel it’s more satisfying when you save for so long and then get the Gecko
