I am guessing you’re getting a new blood boa morph next week. ![]()

Knowing your collection of boas, I bet it has more than blood in it, too. I’m looking forward to seeing what you picked up.
Had to add to the thread… female Oreocryptophis porphyraceus laticinctus (broad banded bamboo rat snake). She’s incredibly handleable and so beautiful.
Love the color of your snake.
Amazing. Really beautiful.
Oh my goodness! What a lovely animal! I almost bought a bamboo rat baby a few months ago but by the time the babies were ready I had changed my mind! Now I wish I hadn’t! ![]()
Congratulations on a beautiful snake!
Thank y’all!! These are a new breeding project for me - I have a male coming in next week! I’ll post him too - he still has his juvie colors.
Sounds interesting! ![]()
Pretty new girl! Congratulations on her!
I love these guys! The colour is so rich and beautiful, and I love the shape of their heads. Gorgeous new addition!
Another beauty! I love the black rings and his head stamp! Can’t wait to see these babies!!! ![]()
Thanks!!! Part of what I’m hoping to do is line breed for thicker black lines. I don’t know if it will be possible, but it’s my goal with these guys. Also aberrant pattern.
Sounds like a plan! Just curious I am wondering if your new rats came from Chandler IN? I do not want to mention any store names but I was going to purchase from a seller there……
Anyhoo your project is very interesting! ![]()
They did not - I got my female from ECW (I believe they’re in Illinois) and my male from Prismatic (I think in Idaho). But I considered that seller you’re mentioning, they seem wonderful from my observations! I say go for it!
I was heavily considering it because they also have a store in Henderson KY where I grew up so I was going to save shipping and pick up there when I visited. Clint seems super nice.
Maybe one day. The bamboo rats seem to be as easy to care for as corns……
I would say even easier than corns. They don’t require any supplemental heat whatsoever and may actually be at risk of overheating if it’s provided, so room temperature between 68-78 is best for these guys. Higher humidity than corns (I keep mine at 70%) but that’s basically all with them. Super easy and really lovely animals.
I read that they could be kept without supplemental heat as long as room temperature is in the 70’s and here in IN humidity is no problem!
. Aren’t they just a bit shorter in length, compared to corns? As adults?
Yep! Yeah, my supplemental misting isn’t much haha but I do try to keep them a little wetter. Yeah, adults max out around 4ft.
