What new reptiles have you bought recently? 2.0

Your new male is so handsome, @inspirationexotics. I really like bamboo rats. Unfortunately, my hubby really likes the southern warmth. Dan’s preferred room temp would be too warm for them. I insist on modulating that downward somewhat but it’s still around 80. I could just about incubate eggs in my living room. Lol

Oh gosh, I could never. If my house is above 76 I’m sweating, lol.

I’m with @inspirationexotics, I could not live with your husband, @caryl. I do everything I can to keep my home from getting much above 70F. Anything warmer than that feels way too hot, especially if there’s even a whisper of humidity.

I used to sleep with my window open year-round, even in the winter. The only reason I stopped doing that was because it would get too cold for the snakes when it would get into the low 40s or high 30s. Go figure. The sacrifices we make for our animals!

I’m actually MUCH more in your camp than in Dan’s, @inspirationexotics and @jawramik. I really miss cold weather. Really hoping to be moved back to where the four seasons are actually noticeable soon.

My husband and I are counting the days until fall and then winter. We hate this suppressing heat and humidity here in IN! The sweat bees are everywhere this year as well as these stinkin fruit flies. They hang out in the bathroom we use as well as the kitchen sink.

We are slowly getting rid of them but they are such a nuisance! Bring on the cold. I can barely stand it at 73 in our house!!!

Been waiting a few weeks for these to arrive but finally picked up a box from Peter Primo this morning with some killer VPI blood stock. The raptor is drop dead gorgeous with a killer head stamp. Color, pattern, and contrast are all exceptional. The blood and hypo lab also have incredible color. Really excited to add these to my collection.

I need to get all of them outside to get some pics under better lighting. Until then, here are some pics under the terrible lighting in my QT room.

2024 0.1 VPI Raptor het Blood

2025 1.0 Blood 66% het VPI. He’s from Berry Blood and old school European PP stock.

2025 0.1 Hypo Labyrinth 66% het blood and vpi. She has killer color so I’m pretty confident she will prove het blood. She is very smol :joy:

As someone new to IN, this heat and humidity is going to be the death of me! I walk outside to my bus stop and I’m immediately sweaty and the sweat bees know it :joy: :sob: :sob: :sob:

I lived there briefly, and that must be the Goldilocks climate for ticks, because I’ve never seen anything like it.
