He’s lagging! But he’s due to eat today and I have a feeling he might in blue.
Awwwwww. My sweet little peanut! I do hope he sheds! He’s going to love his new apartment! His next door neighbor is Mr. Matcha Man Pac Man frog.
Reese - as expected! Early blue, securely tucked away into his Dots candy box. I’ll definitely post pictures after he sheds!
I actually think that this might be it, just saying from my limited knowledge of corn morphs.
Oh that’s so so sweet! I love dots too! I eat them at the movies! Thank you!
The ‘good’ babies ate tonight (at least those who weren’t in blue). Tootsie has become such an excellent eater that she now will even strike food from the tongs.
Tootsie:
Smartie:
Wrigley:
Spree:
And Licorice:
Large pinkies for all of them tonight. They did great!
Such cuties!
There is absolutely a difference between them. Both adorable, but I’m guessing that Starburst is Red Factor. Of course; Twix may be RF also and it’s just not apparent yet. I haven’t had RF babies before this season, but I got into that sort of thing with Halo babies last year. Some just took longer for it to show.
Oh my goodness, could Reese be more adorable? ? No, not possible.
Thanks! Yeah, Halo is another tricky one that takes a while. I guess it’s a good thing that some of these babies are being so picky about food so I have to hold on to them at least until they’re eating reliably without tricks. So I might get a chance to really see some development. I really, really should only hold back one, but I do quite like Starburst as well as the original holdback I chose, Rolo.
Yeah Reese is pretty adorable! But then could I be prejudiced a tad? “DOTS RIGHT”!
That’s an excellent point! Way to find a silver lining with your picky babies.
No comment here, other than that they are both adorable, lol.
“DOTS RIGHT!” ?? Good grief, Caron, you’re even cheesier than me!!
Ok but remember Reese is already spoken for! Lol!
Thank you dear @caryl! We are the sisterhood of the traveling cheesy comments!
Fresh shed from Pez, one of the non-eaters. She’s already been claimed by a friend of mine, but I hope I can get her eating on her own before it’s time to send her out.
She’s a pretty little thing. I love that cute little face!
Maybe this 2nd? shed she will have burned up all her yolk and be ready to eat. I’m sure your friend will give you time to get her eating!
I sometimes refer to the ‘shed reset’ with non-feeders. Sometimes a fresh shed can reset their brain and get them eating. And yes, he’ll be understanding for sure. He also has plenty of experience with corns and might want to work with her himself. If she’s not eating on her own by the time the weather is cool enough here for shipping, I’ll probably let him have a chance to get her started himself. But I’d obviously prefer to already have her eating before she goes! Sometimes even being shipped is enough to get them eating!
Well it sounds like she will be in good hands with him but I bet she eats well before the end of the month, probably next time you offer her food……. That pic of little Reese in his Dot Box was way too cute! I am still smiling about it!
“Shed reset,” that’s a good term. Hopefully Pez will figure out the whole feeding thing soon. I have always found it interesting that shipping gets some going. Safety and security are so important, and we try so hard to ensure that babies feel safe. Why on earth does being jounced around in a container with strange scents, sounds, temperatures, movements for hours, then arriving in a whole new world where nothing is the same except maybe a bit of bedding which traveled with them - why would that trigger a feeding response? Yet it can. The world is a strange place.
Amen @caryl The world is most definitely a strange place!
So I have a feeling this egg isn’t going to make it. It went from looking like a normal, healthy egg with good veins to a greenish tinted (when candled, that is) egg and has been losing veins over the last couple of days. I was considering cutting it tonight, but I wanted to see if the baby inside would move at all, so I gently tapped the area where the baby was. And it really got moving! I still don’t know if it will pip and be healthy because the green tint is a really bad sign, but for now I’ll leave it be and see what happens.
