I’ve been checking in on the growing babies more. This is one of my top moments every year. Being able to watch as they grow from “dots” and veins to a recognizable creature, moving with life. It takes my breath away and if I didn’t have to close the incubator for their heat I could stay and watch all day.
This is Fleur and Neville’s clutch at 40 days today. They have about a week left, maybe a little more. My luck will be they end up hatching while I am out of town for Memorial weekend.

I love working from home. But during this season it is absolute torture being only a few feet from the incubator at all times. I keep catching myself staring at the eggs expecting something to happen 
It’s still too early for pips but I want to see them so badly….

750 miles from home, missing my furred babies and still checking on the eggs. They are on day 45 and just maybe they will hold out until I get back
I have never named clutches before, mostly because I’m terrible at thinking up a menagerie of names. But I think I’m going to start this year. I will happily accept any suggestions for themes

ooooh themes are so fun! You could go with desserts (i.e. tiramisu, brownie, blondie, muffin, cupcake), festive drinks (whiskey, lemon drop, bourbon, rose, etc), or plant cultivares like some others do! So many options!!

Basically the ‘morphs’ of the plant world! Different versions of the same plant that are bred to have different features (veregated leaves, different fruit flavors/sweetness levels, different colorations)
For example, pothos come in Golden, Marble Queen, etc
Cultivares are usually in naming fruiting or veggie plants, but I believe the term applies to any slectively bred variety of the same plant
For example, @Caryl has named some peach morph cornsnakes after peach cultivares (i.e. peach tree varieties) which can include Flordacrest, Springprince, Flavorich and many more
Edit: Tomato cultivares offer some delightful name ideas, which I am using in the future, since they include Best Boy, Big Boy, Big Beef, etc

That sounds fun! And tomato names would actually be perfect in honor of my first ever home grown tomato that popped up yesterday.
I have two clutches this year so the first can be plant cultivare (such a fancy word lol) and the second can be desserts. You’ll have to help me with the terminology when picking names

Thank you! God has us in our hands because we literally just had to make an impromptu stop because one of my rear brakes came off! Thank the Lord almighty the one place we decided to stop at to switch places just happened to be a repair shop.
If I had a color chart of my stress right now my whole body would be colored in lol
I am currently cuddling my sweet boy Draco and we only have an hour left to our destination.
(He had to come along for the trip because he’s on daily meds, so it’s easier than boarding)
