How are we supposed to research sellers on MM if all they have is their MM profile? Some sellers don’t have anything other than this profile or haven’t had any reviews.
Do buyers just take a chance?
Why shouldn’t buyers be able to review sellers elsewhere, like on this forum, so that if a prospective buyer needs to research, the information can be found online or googled?
If a seller is actually a good seller and it was an 1-off, there should be people/other breeders and buyers willing to vouch. In my experience, most sellers on MM are reasonable anyway, they offer help and etc.
So if a new seller is acting unreasonable, why shouldn’t buyers be able to post reviews elsewhere? How else do we warn the marketplace? Especially if the seller just deletes the listing/ or doesn’t mark it sold, rather than letting a buyer review them?
Sellers are a tight community, but one rotten apple spoils the lot.
Personally, I haven’t added another BP to the family since my last purchase (aka my only bad reptile purchase) I highly doubt I will buy from a new seller again, but I’m still curious about the researching because I don’t know what else I could have done to prevent my last purchase. I tried researching but nothing came up. I took a chance anyway because I know how hard it is to be an entrepreneur. Plus, every seller I’ve bought from MM have been fantastic and I thought a “new seller” should be offered some consideration and opportunity as an established seller.
I got screwed, but how do we make this a safe place for buyers as well as sellers?
