Hey @spottedbull! Congratulations on the successful moves! I am glad you mentioned critter keepers because pretty much all the T’s I have at the moment are in critter keepers.

The pictures you posted are amazing. They all look nice and healthy! My versi color is molting right now.

I have become fascinated with tarantulas. Unfortunately I don’t have a room to put them in, just shelves in the bedroom I occupy! lol! I never thought I would sleep in the same room with a bunch of spiders! Lol! :joy:

At least you have a shelf! I’m using a small table, on top of two gecko enclosures and my desk lol.

Now that’s pretty bad! Lol :joy::laughing::rofl:

So I upgraded a few of mine the other day. AND chose 2 holdback red and White Brazilians! (Biggest 2). Will eventually only have 1 I think.
AND I paired my jumpers. (I’ve made a thread with pics for these)
Been fun here :smiling_face_with_tear:
I will also add this is my first time handling them all! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

So first of, my black Brazilian (my fav :zipper_mouth_face:)

Next is the curly hair!

My 2 holdback red and whites!
This one’s more pinky atm:

And the fav as more chill haha:

Bonus: the headlight roaches got an upgrade! Can’t remember if I put on here about my new additions a couple weeks ago! But already have babies too!!

Not the highest quality photo, but probably the best one my P. metallica has sat still in the open for to date.

Tonight we were joined by a guest for UNO on the porch, some sort of stag beetle. It was doing the rear leg up pose I see the japanese beetles doing (see last pic), so I assume a female throwing off pheremones? She hung out musking up my hand until she flew off with enough force to generate wind :joy:

Two things…

1.) We love Uno around here. Have you tried Dos?

2.) I want a larva or beetles like that to try and raise up. They are super cool.

Dos was somehow too hard for my family and I to learn (we share custody of like 3 braincells between us), but we ADORE Uno Flip, and you should 10000% try it if you haven’t!

You know how I was recently complaining that my curly hair was never out and was super skittish? Well, she just stayed out for a whole feeding routine! This is the first time she hasn’t bolted back into her burrow when I pick up and open her enclosure. Maybe she’s finally old/big enough to stop being quite so afraid of the world. I got some pictures!

Sadly, my G. pulchripes was less cooperative. Normally she’s pretty chill, but this time she skittered back into her flower pot when I opened her enclosure. Still took some crummy pictures. I’m definitely going up upgrade her enclosure after her next molt. I didn’t put much effort into it aesthetically because I knew it’d be temporary, but I’m getting kinda sick of how ugly it is, haha.

The curly hair is getting some nice size. Mine’s all locked away molting at the moment. Sometimes a spider’s entire attitude can change after a molt. Maybe she is feeling more sure and fearless now.

I understand the sling-sized enclosures. Mine were all just utilitarian til they weee much bigger.

Philly got a total tank clean yesterday and she always plays ‘the floor is lava’ for a while afterwards. Also, if you’ve never thought of it (like me until this week), nursery pots from plants/greenhouses can make excellent hides for inverts! I made sure to wash and dry to get off any fertilizer from the plants. They come in all sizes, and you can see Philly on one

The tank clean usually goes super smooth, I’ve been doing one every 6 months or so for 8 years, but yesterday was awful.
Mum babysat the 8 legged child for me while I swapped out dirty substrate, cricket bits, poops, etc. And as I lifted up her good ol 20 gallon, the bottom shattered! Thankfully the acrylic did its job and stayed in the frame instead of putting shards everywhere, but it was totally ruined.
Thankfully I had a spare 20gal from one of my restoration projects, but it was so panic inducing and I felt so guilty that I pretty much decided on the spot I’m never allowed any more pets ever again :joy:
We’ll see how long that sentiment sticks around haha. Philly never knew anything was up, and is exploring and webbing her (much newer than anticapted) surroundings as normal.

So what is she again?

She was a rescue from a middle school, and I was told she is a Chilean Rose/Fire Tarantula, though that was info I received from the teacher, and so while it seems accurate I wouldn’t be surprised if she was something else :joy:

Pilly is such a pretty girl! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

They’re so funny after a rehouse. My golden-knee spent at least a day in each ceiling corner before finally trusting the “new ground” and exploring her new habitat. My curly hair spent about a week covering EVERY inch of the enclosure (including the walls and ceiling) and digging out two corners in the enclosure before finally finding the actual hide with a starter burrow. :person_facepalming:

I have rehoused like all 11 of my tarantulas. NONE of them have used the starter burrow!
