Put my scarlet millipede Nautilus in the ten gallon with my hissing cockroaches! Figure what’s better than not seeing him even in a 6 quart tub than not seeing him ever in a ten gallon tank :joy:. Even though i probably won’t see him very often if at all, i hope he will enjoy being in the larger enclosure with more enrichment and burrowing room

I am getting into millipedes myself and scarlet is one that is on my (long) list. I have 4 ivory ghost millipedes right now. They are doing well so far. One of them has buried itself so I am thinking it’s molting. I need to get a cuttle bone to put in with them…

Pompeii the lava spider is no longer afraid of crickets! I just spent the last 10 minutes watching her wrestle down a cricket that’s almost as big as she is. What a good little predator!

I saw one of those on MM but it was 120.00 so I decided to put that one on my Bucket List! :joy:

Yeah, $120 seems to be the usual going rate for a lava sling these days, which is why I was super stoked and pounced when Fear Not had them on sale for $65. Definitely keep an eye out for vendors putting them on sale. I also suspect their price will come down within the next couple years. It seems like more and more breeders in the US are starting to produce them.

Hope you’re right! :crossed_fingers:

My precious little evil pincher was officially rehomed today to a lovely couple with 3 bioactive 120 gallon hermit crab colony tanks. It was bittersweet and my heart hurts, but he will be social and have so much enrichment now!

Well honey girl there would be something wrong if your heart did not hurt but you have done right by him over the years and now you are making the ultimate sacrifice of love for him. He will be so happy to find a family of his own kind since hermies are social critters, which you already know. Focus on the future and not the past! You will be fine!:pray:

Oolong, my GBB, has gotten pretty curious since its last molt. If it detects I’m moving around near the spider shelf they’ll come creepin over to see what’s going on.

Oh man, I know that must be really tough to give him up, but I definitely think it was the right decision. It sounds like he’ll have an amazing life in his new home with a bunch of other hermit crabs. Good on you for doing what’s best for him, even though it hurts. Best wishes to Kirby in his new home!

I really liked this shot of Pompeii wrestling a cricket with her booty up in the air, so I cropped it a bit and tried to do a little colour correction to try to compensate for the bad lighting. I’ve never really played around with colour editing before, so I have no idea what I’m doing, but I kinda like how it turned out.

Newest spoods: a good size A. seemani and a little B. hamorii.
I will also be adding a B. smithi and A. genticulata (and a tailless whip scorpion) in a few days.

Woke up to both Pompeii the lava spider and Aster the purple pink toe being freshly molted!

Here’s Pompeii with her molt.

Sadly Aster ran and hid before I could get a picture, but she’s HUGE! And she’s starting to finally get a bit of a purple tint to her.
