You could move the three with veins (and any stuck to them) to a smaller, separate container to finish incubating, but unless the others are starting to smell or attract insects, I wouldn’t necessarily worry about it. Healthy eggs are pretty good at handling being around bad eggs. If you shine a light on the eggs with veins and watch the dark shadows, you may be able to see them move. Patience is key, you’ll have results soon!
Ive managed to catch 2 of the ones with veins move! Its very exciting and tomorrow that would have been in there for 7 weeks
Just a couple weeks left! Can’t wait for your post about pips, I’m excited for you.
Im very excited too! Ive been trying to distract myself from the eggs with my exams but they end this week so im just going to be waiting in anticipation for a week or two
It’s so hard when you get to the home stretch. Mine aren’t that far behind yours, so I’m in that anxiously waiting phase, too at the moment.
Yea and i swear it feels like it gets slower the futher through you are becuase you can see the development and you just get more excited lol
Yep, that’s exactly how it works!
I’ve got 29 eggs with movement, one clutch is 8 days behind the other. Having to almost sit on my hands to keep from checking every two seconds.
Lol it will probably be worse for me next year too becuase im planning on doing 2 clutches
Well no matter how many babies you end up with you can be proud of them! As careful and as caring as you have been with those little eggs, you are a great custodian of all of those babies! I love it! ![]()

I would like to say it gets easier as they get neater hatching but that would be a lie. Lol. Every day seems longer when one is awaiting the blessed event, at least on my watch.
I’m seeing good eggs and some which are likely not, but as @noodlehaus says, there’s no harm in leaving them to incubate if they’re not smelly or drawing pests. You can remove single eggs if you want, but at this point you shouldn’t try and detach any from the clump. There’s too much risk of damaging the fertile eggs, and there’s no need to remove the others anyway. Amazingly, the good eggs will “ignore” the bad ones if they’re just shrivelling and darkening.
I don’t see anything concerning in the photo referenced. The good egg on the bottom looks fine. They can develop various color changes and be fine. By the way, the fertile eggs will become less white in the final days before hatching as the embryos draw calcium from the eggshells.
Update on the eggs. Its day 58 of incubation amd the 3 eggs with veins still look good.
Also do the eggs always dip before hatching and if so how long do they dip in before they hatch. Also when I twist the egg I can see stuff in the egg moving too and this is in all 3 of them. Is that normal? And in all 3 eggs i can still see a large shadow at the bottom of the egg.
Yes dipping and denting in more then a week before they hatch is completely normal. I am not sure what you mean about twisting and seeing stuff? By now you should see a dark shape, maybe even moving, I would think. Wait a few more days and see what happens, that’s all any of us can do! Hope everything goes well with these eggs for ya! Keep everyone updated!![]()
They don’t always dimple before hatching. But yes, seeing a dark blob on the bottom, sometimes moving, is totally normal for this stage of development.
Im also seeing stuff floting in the eggs that moves when I twist the. Is this also normal?
I’m not sure. I don’t ever pick up or twist my eggs after they’ve been laid. They look healthy and normal to me, so it’s probably normal?
Hopefully they are. Besides the slight discoloration on one of them they all have veins and show development. How long should it be now roughly until they hatch?
Depends on temps. My first clutch this year hatched at day 77 at room temp. If you’re incubating warmer than that, it should be soon, like 60-65 days.
Awesome and also when they do hatch should i keep them in the same container together until they shed or separate them immediately?
It’s up to you! They seem to do fine with either option. I like to weigh and separate right after hatching. That way I can easily track who’s shed and other info for each baby without getting confused.
Ok then thanks for all of the help!
