These cant be the same to each other. Id definitely not get them.

For me the humidity is the more important reading since i have to maintain low humidity for my animals. I use my laser thermometer to monitor my heat and adjust the thermostat as needed.

Temporary spikes in humidity is ok thats “normal” but if the humidity is consistently high thats a problem and having each of these show differences is a problem. Seems in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

The last one is ZooMed, it’s good. As I recall, Amazon doesn’t sell the Vivarium Electronics one for some reason. I can’t remember where I got it, but if you Google “vivarium electronics hygrometer,” some vendors should pop up.

Got it thanks!

Hello everyone I wanted to give a quick update about him since there had been a few developments…

So first of all I ordered the vivarium Electronics hygrometer thermometer as well as 2 new plants including carpeting plant. I also ordered 2 new Pangea flavors (so now I have all of them)
I am a little worried that the thermometer is not accurate because it will say 63% in the middle of the day and I come back 5 minutes later and for no reason at all it will say like 82% (as an example) Does anyone have this happen with theirs?

And like I mentioned I did get some new flavors of food because of the issues he has eating and I tried it out and…there was no difference in his eating so it turns out it is not the flavor of the food that is bothering him. I also stared feeding every other night like you suggested and I really am not noticing a difference i have also tried mixing the foods together as well. he will maybe eat half of his food a night and that may sound like plenty but he has a really small food dish and I barley put any food in it…so I am staring to notice him losing weight. I really have tried everything and don’t understand why he is losing weight . When I got him he was 45g and now he is around 39g … so he did eat before I got him and I am feeding the same diet he was fed before. And I really don’t know what to do so I have decided to start feeding him live insects. I just don’t know where to start as I have heard crickets die really easily and can give crested geckos pinworms. crickets are really the only insect cresties like… any suggestions? or if you know of a good place to get crickets from? Thanks a lot!

If you have any suggestions or solutions or questions please let me know I really want him to be happy and healthy

Here are some recent pics of him

Just enjoying his coconut hide

I love a coconut hide

I hate glass stains. I clean the does regularly so I can set in but the sides are too difficult.

Doesn’t seem like to much weight has been lost, so far, but still enough to keep an eye on. It could be a breeding thing (if he was bred, sorry I can’t remember) as Cresties do lose weight and with moving enclosure is even more stress.

From the pictures, it doesn’t look like there is much coverage, that will cause stress and lack of eating.

I have used white vinegar to clean my glass enclosures when I run out of glass cleaner, but you must ensure it is all gone before gecko goes near it

He looks fine weight wise personally.

Some do take a while to settle in.

What’s viv size?
Defo need more branches, plants and hiding spaces. As said about coverage^
Being so open will stress him a lot.

He loves it too
Thanks for the tip I tried using a white vinegar solution mixed with water then rubbing it on the glass but the water stains still did not disappear sadly…but still working on it.

He was never bred before (I don’t think) and naturally my first thought would be stress form moving into a new environment BUT he has maybe been here for 3 months so he should be acclimated by now. The only reason I asked about it or am very worried is because you are right he is currently not skinny at all the only issue is he USED to be bigger so that proves something is off and wrong and that is what I am currently trying to figure out.

As for the coverage he has maybe 5 decent sized live plants a huge center piece driftwood plenty of moss the coconut hide and a terra cotta pot house. He currently has a decent amount of coverage the only reason I am not adding more is because I am waiting for the plants to grow in and when they do he will have even more coverage (I just don’t want to overdue it)

His vivarium is a 20 gal

Any idea what the food issue is? Would love to hear if you have any thoughts

We measure in cm usually in the uk.
So what size vivs he in, in cm?

And defo add more branches. Plants aren’t always stable enough so he needs more branches or cork tubes to climb on.

Food wise, he may be fussy. Just keep trying…

I had some recently not touch for months, only tiny bits and all of a sudden now they’re chowing it down! :woman_facepalming:t2:

Haha, most of my Cresties love their coconut hides too.

If I’m honest, I think the lack of coverage and climbing options is what is causing him to not eat properly. It appears as though he might be too stressed to eat.

Not sure what 20 gallon is.

Every gecko is different at settling in. I’ve had a Crestie for about 2 years and she has only just eat her first insect as previous owner didn’t feed her insects but she is great to handle.

I have another gecko that I got 4 months ago, he does not like being handled and freaks out at the smallest of things. But another gecko that I got around the same time is absolutely amazing in every way.

I will add a pic of one of my enclosures to show you how full my Cresties like their enclosures.

Thanks for the reply’s! I will definitely think about adding more branches but I am going with a pretty strict scape with the tank and branches seem to make it look very messy.I was thinking of adding one like those bamboo plastic rods from flukers, you know how they have suction cups on either side of the bamboo? Well I was wondering if they have a more realistic version of that because that will really help to fill up the tank more though honesty I don’t think branches like that will provide much cover they are more for climbing but I will look in Amazon and see what I can
find.

I live in the US and not sure how to measure it by cm I just know how many gallons it is…I will send a pic of the tank though it is the middle of the day so it will have a really bad glare.

And wow!! Your tank looks amazing!! I wish my plants were as big as yours. that’s one lucky gecko!
