Thank you!! I love dinosaurs that are believed to have fancy nose crests and other faicial adornments, its so incredible!!
My last project before moving to grad school was a fun one I think, so I thought I would share!
My mom has wanted a garden goose forever, but they are bloody expensive, so when we saw this one being thrown out, we HAD to take her home.
Meet Agatha, restored and painted by yours truly!

I was able to use techniques I learned on this site, like drybrushing and sealing, to work on her, so thanks to everyone!
I’m just about moved in, so more dinosaurs should be up very soon! ![]()
Well, it’s safe to say that you did a wonderful job! You’re fabulously talented! I bet your mom is thrilled!!
Agatha is going to be a wonderful addition to your mother’s garden. I know she will thoroughky enjoy the gift. Every time your mom looks at Agatha, she’ll see you, too. That’s a blessing to treasure always.
Is it based off a Embden goose?
It looks good @cmills!
Thank you all so much! It felt so nice to leave something behind that she can see every day ![]()
@logar yes! I voted for a Canada goose color scheme, but mum wanted a more peaceful creature, so classic farm goose it is
She did say if she ever finds another I can turn it into a Canada goose; I personally think it would be the perfect home protection tool! ![]()
Might be at that, it just might. My mom always said there was nothing like a flock of guineas to raise a literal squawk and let a body know if a prowler (her word) came around, along with some geese to see him off in a hurry.

I’d love to have a flock of guineas at some point, they are such goofy little guys ![]()
They are! Maybe they’re a good choice for a dinosaur too, when you’re back at that drawing board. ![]()
Oh that is SUCH a good idea! I have a few terror birds coming up that could work with that!!

Heck, yeah!
First piece of this new chapter in my life!
This is Maip, whose full name means something akin to ‘death that kills with the cold wind’ like that isn’t the most HARDCORE name EVER
The pattern is based on an African Fire Skink (I did change up the legs to add some more contrast), and the dewlap flashing is inspired by anoles and iguanas
I’m still trying to create new and dynamic poses to keep things interesting, so here is my interpretation of a large theropod’s mating display
ALSO! I am starting to build up a new video series for 2025 - ‘Wild and Weird’ about some super strange living animals. Examples on my list include the goblin shark, platypus, and saiga antelope.
I have several reptiles on the list (thorny devil, girdle lizard, marine iguanas, flying frog, that frog that breaks its bones, the antifreeze frog), but I am by no means a reptile expert and would LOVE some other weird reptiles or birds to draw and post here!
(Also I know about the suriname toad…but I have bad acquired trypophobia and simply CANNOT look at them
)
That’s a totally awesome name! And your interpretation is totally awesome too!
I’ve got one for you. It checks the boxes for “Wild and Weird” and also hardcore names. Take a look at Vampiroteuthis diabolus, the “vampire squid from Hell.”
There are so many strange creatures in the deep sea. I don’t know how marine you want to go, but I can give your a bunch of possibilities there.
What about the pyrenean desman? It’s a strange mole relative with a nose it uses both as a snorkel and a sensor underwater, as its main hunting method is to dive and search for aquatic invertebrates. And it’s a living fossil.
It’s on the list, thank you!
What a little freak! (Said with love)
He goes on the list for sure!
