Reptile Morph Art Series

A perfect addition!..He kinda looks like he needs and NSFW warning :joy: :joy:

As far as snakes go I also have that cool viper with a spider lure on its tail…I can’t think of the name rn but it originates from the Middle East

The one that was only discovered in 2013 or something like that?

Edit: I just looked it up and it is the spider-tailed horned viper and was described as a new species in 2006

That’s the one!

The turtle frog, a frog from the sandy dunes of western Australia, very unique among frogs as it skips the tadpole stage and just hatches straight into a frog making it to my knowledge the only species of frog that can fully survive and reproduce with no access to free standing water.

The gastric brooding frog, a frog that was native to Queensland but went extinct in the mid 80s. In this species of frog, the mother frog would lay her eggs and then swallow them, a chemical in the eggs would stop her from producing stomach acid, the tadpoles would hatch and then develop into frogs, and then over the course of a few days the mom would vomit up her babies.

That turtle frog is an absolute UNIT

Also wow! I didn’t know anything outside of fish protected babies in their mouth, let alone their STOMACH

That’s absolutely unbelievable! God’s creation never ceases to amaze me!

I seem to have been on an aquatic kick today, I’ve done a platypus, a maiacetus (precursor to whales), and now a dunkleosteus!

These were powerful bony armored fish; they probably wouldn’t have been this colorful but I’m in charge so :joy: Based on a red arrowana

Probably one of my larger projects to date, this took forever. This was made for an upcoming long form video about dinosaurs having lips (or not)…which believe it or not is a HUGE controvery in the dino nerd community (+ 2 non dinosaur reptiles)

Here’s a piece for an October video about how herbivores will usually munch on some…non plant matter in order to supplement vital nutrients, and its highly likely herbivorous dinos did the same. Gotta be spooky for an Oct video!

This is a diabloceratops munching on a juvenile lythronax, and the cera is based on a BRB. I love how the rim lighting turned out! It was a risk but absolutely paid off!

Not a reptile, but MM has fish categories now so IT’S OKAY
Plus y’all like weird stuff and goblin sharks top that list for sure

Here’s a Hellbender, an endangered amphibian from my neck of the woods (ish).
The pose was tricky, I tried to capture that silly float that a lot of amphibians do. Considering my source material looks like a flat pile of living mud, I don’t think its too bad :joy:

Here’s a pyroraptor based on a red crested cardinal  Probably my most difficult pose yet!

Also, sometimes I come up with pose ideas on the fly and scribble them on my phone to remember, so here’s the original concept for this one :joy: :joy: :joy:

These are great! And I’ve never seen or heard of a red crested cardinal. It’s a beautiful bird, and you did a wonderful job on putting the cardinal’s color on the pyroraptor!

Have a special thing with cardinals. I have a tattoo of one in honor of my dad

Thank you! I was originally going to use a regular ole cardinal like I see in the Midwest, and while scrolling I found that fellow, and I’m totally in love!

Same! Now i want to see one in person!

Me too! I wonder if they are routinely sassy like Northern Cardinals are :joy:

These are wonderful!!

What a fun - and accurate - description of your source creature. I am imagining it gigantically, exponentially up-sized, made of actual mud, dripping as it moves… If that hasn’t already been a character in a video game, a graphic novel, or a horror movie, it should be!
