I adore how goofy the little sea bunny twinkie log on the bottom left turned out
Dang! Really sorry to hear that life is wrestling you down right now. Hopefully it will soon take a turn for the much better. I will say a prayer.
Hey friends!
I’m trying to get back into drawing, recently most of my creative endeavors have been embroidery and starting a project doing read-throughs and art for the original Jurassic Park novel.
I wanted to doodle on paper tonight, and ended up with some (very early) design ideas for some cute fall/halloween themed YHHs (Your Herp Here!).
I was wondering if anyone would like to see their herp in one of these situations, or jump off of these ideas for another pose?
I think $5 would be fair for each, $7 if there is a glowing component, and I can also send you a sticker for the added price of printing the sticker (depending on size +$1.50 or so and shipping, but I can always hold off until Redbubble does a free shipping sale).
Idk, just wanted to doodle something
These are so cute! I’m going to figure out somebody to go into a pose or two.
Finally had time for a new dinosaur, and did you guys know after all this time I’ve NEVER drawn a triceratops?!?
This particular one is based on the Yoshi’s Trike, aka Yoshi, who has the biggest horns of any known specimen. ALSO, look who finally remembered to give a ceratopsian quills!
Colors/patterns based on a caramel albino sumatran STP
That second pic looks like my Sumatran….
The pic was from an ad from TB Snakes, BUT I did use your snake as inspo, because I remembered he has a lovely contrasted head color compared to the body and I wanted that!
So you aren’t too far off!!
Well thank you so very much!
Here is a Kaprosuchus! This is a crocodiliform that had much longer legs and a more upright stance than the typical crocodilians we think of, and is one of many more land-based, ‘galloping’ crocodiliforms.
I should note they probably didn’t run in this manner nor have this much hip flexibility, but I loved this pose too much and a little artistic liberty is okay!
Also I based him on a Red River Hog piglet, which like, whaaaat that’s not a reptile at all what the heck? Kaprosuchus means ‘boar crocodile’ because of those very interesting tusks, so I chose the red river hog to use some colors you don’t normally see on a crocodilian, but its still earth toned and camoflauged in a realistic way.

How was this even possible??? Well, you certainly conquered the form when you decided to take it on. Well done!
I know they’re invasive in so many places, and I’ve hidden up a tree from their adult relatives - but I love the stripes on those babies piglets! Love the dino version, too.
Talk about a cutie patootie baby and an enormous schnoz!
I think I got so focused on showing off some dinos no one talks about that I totally glossed over some very popular ones! I’ve never done stegosaurus either, so that will be coming up!
Pigs are somehow both so cute and SO SO TERRIFYING - honestly they balance it weirdly well
@cmills , I really hope you don’t mind, if you do, I’ll delete this post, but since every one on this thread appreciates paleoart, I wanted to share a couple sketches I did recently as well as one I’m working on right now to see what the community thinks about them
THESE ARE SO AMAZING!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BLESSING US WITH THESE!! Your art is ALWAYS welcome oh my goodness please always feel free to add to the thread!!!
Aww thanks for the support I wasn’t really sure if I was all that good, I’ve never had any training or classes or anything, I just kinda like dinosaurs and drawing them
Ohhhhh wow!!! Those are wonderful, @garciademueller ! Thank you for sharing. And thank you, @cmills , for you wonderful generous spirit! You both bless us all.
Not even joking these are some of the best sketches I have EVER seen!!
Those sketches are classic!!!
@garciademueller you totally inspired me this evening! Your preening raptor made me realize I have totally neglected drawing a feathered dino preening, what a great idea for a unique pose!
So I tried my own hand at a preening pose tonight with a Guanlong based on a South Philippines Dwarf Kingfisher.
Feathers are hard for me in general, and hard to simplify in this style, but I think its not too bad!
