Show off your Hognose Snakes!

I have actually written down plans and possible outcomes for breeding projects despite not having kept hognoses  it was done awhile ago, and unfortunately won’t happen any time soon, but I’d love to at least try some day.

My major wish is to produce a visual lavender snow as it’s something I was never able to find, so I’m not sure if it’s been produced yet. I know I probably shouldn’t expect much with how snows are pretty much just bright white snakes and adding anything probably wouldn’t be too big of a change but I think it would be cool nonetheless, just cause it adds two of my favorite morphs together.

I’d also love to work with corals, mercury, toxic, and Jaguar. So pretty much the axanthic or lavender stuff, I love the appearance of a silverish or purple snake. I think adding purple line to lavender to use in these would make them really pop color wise but as for now these are all just dreams

  • Also I know jaguar isn’t an axanthic or lavender project but the pattern is super pretty

Keeva, sassy as always hissing and hooding up at me.

Brigid (the more orange of the two) and her brother sèamus. Sèamus was out of moms second clutch, they’re a month apart, brigid being older. May and june of last year.

I just like the contrast of color on these two.

And sèamus and oisin. Unrelated, oisin is normal het albino 66% het axanthic. Hes a month younger than sèamus, and was the runt of his clutch.

I’ve decided that for my first hognose I’m going to get a female anaconda het albino. I’m not in any rush so it will likely be many months until I get one, but I’ve been doing research on them. I’m planning on raising her up and saving money for a super anaconda arctic albino male to breed. I have other ideas for projects with that male but I didn’t want to start with those and spend $2k+ on a high-end female as my first hognose and breeding project.

Two of my lil derps. Oisin and keeva. Keeva is in blue. Oisin was the runt of his clutch, and for the longest time thats what i called him. Went thru several months of not eating, and now hes pacjing on the weight and length.

(psst, was it Caoimhe originally? I switched Fionnlagh to Finnley to be easier on future vet techs who have to write it down because here in the US Rockies no one can spell those names.)

Edit: Especially after my first snake’s name is Sangfroid. (SannFwra)

First time parent-to-be of little hoggies. I named them before I had even put a deposit on them. Heh. Quetzal (boy) was the sole reason I just had to get a hog. I’m in thrall with his overall look and that’s that. And…might as well go for broke & get another, eh? I just knew that Coatl (girl) was the one & the song “Natural One” by Folk Implosion became an ear worm and that’s that. These will be my only hogs, unless by chance they bring me little Quetzals and Coatls sometime down the road.
