I don’t think she knows I can see her tail end😂

Apparently rosy boas do soak? She did that every day :man_shrugging:

She held that position for about 5 mins.

Rosy boas only soak if they are trying to cool down in my experience. After I lowered the hotspot in my rosy boas enclosure from 90°F to 86-88°F and ditched my basking light is when she stopped soaking. Now I keep my girl using ambient temps unless it gets too cold during the winter, though I usually let her burmate for at least a month since they do so in the wild. That and even if I keep her temps up she doesn’t always eat for me in the colder months. It is like she knows it is cold outside somehow, or is just really dedicated to her annual fast. :joy:

That would make sense. Tho I never kept her above 85 degrees F, as I’ve found at that temp, I always received a better feeding response from them.

She might be sick, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to figure out how to escape. She tried to get out by using her new crossbar in her enclosure as leverage and failed. She had been staring at that corner five minutes before looking at me for a few seconds, and then going into her hide. I think she was pouting. :joy: I can only imagine she was thinking “How could this plan fail? The hooman gave me a way out, has the hooman lied to me?”. Lmao.

Yeah, all of their care sheets online seem to recommend a 90°F basking spot. Not sure why since they seem to do best at lower temps in the mid 80s. They are nocturnal in the wild so it makes sense that they only eat when it is colder. They hide from the heat of the day under cool rocks.

It’s hard sometimes with care sheets having so many different opinions.
I wish there was a way we could have people take a test to make them, like how you take a test to drive.

This is Marty. Marty apparently hates glasses, and tries to remove them from my face at every opportunity.

I picked this guy up yesterday, Pastel, double het for desert ghost and G stripe.
Looks like he is impersonating a knotted rope.

I saw some tiny hats at a local show and had to get one for my girl. They had some tiny beanies as well… I may need to make another trip.

Trash snake. She got out because her tub was wet from her getting her paper towel soaked in her water bowl, so she decided to go chill in the garbage can instead.

She doesn’t get out unless her tub is dirty, otherwise she’s perfectly fine staying in there :joy:
