I really am sorry this is all happening yet again. I’m be saying extra extra prayers.
Of course no one can know just how Celia feels, but I do know that you’re an excellent caretaker for your well- loved animals. You pay close attention to them, and you know when they’re behaving in an unusual way. I’m not a snake but I know first-hand about post-surgical abdominal adhesions. They’re not fun. But they’re not usually horrible, either. Often it’s possible to forget about them for a long time. I can’t move like a snake (wish I could!) and I don’t know how they’d affect her. It’s got to be very different from a human’s experience.
We know that you’ll do what is right. Extra prayers for Celia and for you, @noodlehaus .
Vet called and asked permission to do an x-ray to be certain, but we’re pretty sure at this point it is eggs and there is to be a decision made from here. I swear, this girl…
I’m probably going to ask to be sent the x-ray again because I feel like I have to see how she keeps managing this. Vet called back, she’s got 11 slugs just hanging out in there. That means she’s produced double digits every time, surgery be darned.
We’re giving her another go. She handles surgery well, yes adhesions are a concern, but it’s still worth a shot because she’s otherwise the same happy, healthy, active noodle.
I know this isn’t something at the very front of your mind with this going on, but I’ve got to ask…. Have you had to pay for a spay twice now, and are going to have to pay for a 3rd spay on her?
Celia should get an entry in the Guiness Book of World Records for “Most Spays Ever of Any Animal in the World.” And I sincerely hope that she doesn’t top her own record!
That’s the hope, because my budget can’t take another round of this. Even now, the only reason we can move so swiftly to have her taken care of is her vet’s office allowing us to do payments.
She continues to be a pain in my bum. Checked in on her and she’s getting ready to shed, so I’ll have to call her vet and see if that’ll delay things or not.
Oh dear, sorry to see such a long push-back, I hope that she (Celia) doesn’t throw any more wrenches in the mix and stays happy and healthy for the next few weeks
