Spayed female, gravid 🙃 (Ovarian Remnant Syndrome)

Oh no. Can’t this girl do anything the easy way? Hopefully she will shed and not try to lay before surgery. Not that she could, but at this point, I wouldn’t put anything past her to try!

Thank you guys for being so supportive through all of this, it’s making all this craziness feel a lot less isolating. I just need her to stay eating, passing waste, and to shed between now and then, for my sanity’s sake.

Part of me is still hoping that she really goes the extra mile in this and somehow safely lays these during the wait. :joy: :upside_down_face:

If she somehow safely lays and they were somehow fertile and somehow hatched, that has to be some sort of impossible record that should go in a book somewhere :joy:

I almost said something like this, but didn’t. Is this even remotely possible?

Technically, no, but supposedly neither was needing a third spay, so I’m inclined to believe anything is theoretically possible at this point.

Fair enough. Celia the Confounding continues to puzzle and amaze all of us.

She is an enigma to us all… May we ever find the end of all her not so glorious knowledge in the ways of regrowing ovaries

Ms. Celia shed out 12 days ago, her surgery is scheduled for Thursday. Unfortunately no miracle eggs. While she does have a couple of days to prove me wrong, based on positioning I’m not expecting anything.

Hopefully third time is the charm because I’m exhausted and stressed, can’t even imagine how she feels.

I hope the surgery this time around is fully successful! :crossed_fingers:

Praying that the third time will truly settle the matter for good and Celia will spend many happy years, neither reproducing nor attempting to reproduce - just living life as the beloved pet she is.

I am so sorry you’re going through this AGAIN. This is insane.

I sure as heck hope Zinnia doesn’t do this to me, but ball pythons are much less prolific breeders than corns… fingers are crossed for your girl.

I truly, truly hope this is the last time we go through this, because my sanity cannot take a repeat next year.

@inspirationexotics Just be sure to do regular checks on her during typical breeding season. I highly doubt you’ll have the same issues I am, but it’s better to be overly cautious than miss something, I’ve found. :smiling_face_with_tear:

What’s the schedule for surgery day, Jess?

Good luck tomorrow Celia! I don’t think I will be able to be online until 10 or 11 tomorrow so just thought I would wish her luck now to be safe

She has to be dropped off by 8:30am CDT. I think her surgery is supposed to be in the afternoon, I’ll double check when I get there. They will be keeping her overnight and if all goes well I will pick her up Friday.

Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers: for success

I don’t know what kind of luck you all hoped for, but the call i just got has me on the verge of tears. The vet did a pre-op x-ray…THEY’RE GONE!!! SURGERY IS CANCELLED! Seems she decided to re-absorb them. Since this means there isn’t anything in her, it would make removing the remaining tissue like finding a needle in a haystack. No reason to go fishing.
