Hooray, that’s awesome!! But damn, this girl sure loves throwing you curve balls. :joy:

Hopefully you won’t have to go through this again.

Well, she’s back home and thoroughly unimpressed with today. I’m going to feed her later, she’s overdue for it because of the fasting requirements for surgery. As for me, I’m taking a well deserved nap. I slept like :poop: last night thanks to the stress, and the emotional rollercoaster of this morning has sapped the small bit of energy I had left.

I want to thank you all again for your concern, well wishes, interest, and support throughout this whole saga. It has been much appreciated. Hopefully this is the last time she tries to pull this stunt.

That’s great news! Hopefully she’ll choose not to lay eggs ever again now:)

I hope she learned her lesson and doesn’t try to pull this stunt again anytime soon.

So she did yet another weird thing and decided to have a post-reabsorption shed a mere 23 days after her surgery postponing shed. I’m seeing it as kind of a post-lay (even though she didn’t actually lay anything). Either way, she’s looking all shiny and new again, with zero concerns. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Haha haha, wow, I don’t even begin to know where to begin about what to think about this girl! At least she’s all shiny, fresh, and new. She’s ready for the next weird thing!

I’ve chosen to stop questioning her oddities at this point, but don’t give her any ideas, she might try something new.

Tell her to purchase you a lottery ticket at this point

Well, we’ve circled back around…again. I posted 29 days ago that she’d shed 23 days after the previous one…Well, she’s in blue again. She also looks gravid again. Excuse me while I go bang my head against a desk repeatedly. :person_facepalming: :face_exhaling: :upside_down_face:

I’m sorry, Jess. This is just beyond belief! I wonder if there’s any type of hormone to suppress ovulation n in reptiles. Such things are sometimes used in wildlife management (wild mares, for instance). Maybe someone has looked at such a drug for herps. Other than that probably fictitious possibility, I think desk banging is not entirely unreasonable. But please don’t hurt yourself, because we love you.

Someone really needs to write up a Paper on this noodle. So sorry…

If she is, hopefully she reabsorbs. I’m an overly-sentimental guy, but I think I’d have to make a difficult decision if she doesn’t, based on this girl’s history.

My vet and I have already had a good long discussion this previous go 'round about what would happen. There’s no reason to think a third surgery would cause any significant issue, she’s still otherwise happy, healthy, and behaving normally. At this point euthanasia is not on the table and won’t be unless something changes in regards to her needs and level of comfort.

I think we got lucky this time and I panicked over nothing for once. She’s not shed yet but she’s no longer looking gravid. Wondering if she’s still clearing remnants of the slugs from earlier in the season, or if it was an ovulation. Either way, continuing to monitor her, she’s content to just exist at this point.

She’s chill and I’m over here just so very paranoid about her every odd quirk and swelling. I could use a break. :joy:
