What New Invertebrates Have You Bought Recently?

Hey there! Pardon me for lurking in old threads, and please excuse any formatting errors as this is actually my first time posting! I believe you have a Bumba horrida here rather than an H. longipes. From what I’ve seen longipes has the pinkish coloration extending onto their legs, where horrida does not.

Here’s a pic of my B. horrida. One of my favorite species by far!

So i decided that i want a trio of blue death feigning beetles while i was at a local exotics shop soooo… i bought one more. The other two are gonna get here with the tarantulas on the 16th so he’ll have friends soon. He’s very black right now but he should turn back to blue soon.

Well because of the weather they aren’t coming until the week of the 22nd so still some more waiting

They’re here!

Grammostola pulchra

Caribena versicolor

And the two more blue death feigning beetles

Little update: The pulchra has already taken a meal! The versicolor has food in with it but doesn’t seem interested so we’ll see if it ends up taking it.

Not sure if I ever showed the cool little enclosure I found on Etsy for a sling enclosure. As you can see, I have my little H. pulchripes in here. That little blue lid is great. She (hopefully) has webbed up to the vent so it keeps me from ripping the web away. Couldn’t get a good picture of her but the webbing says, to me, that it’s happy.

Picked up a few new inverts in Sacramento this weekend. Got an Assassin bug (Horrid King) colony starter, 0.0.2 B. albiceps juvenile and spiderling 0.0.1 A. Purpurea sling 0.0.1 G. pulcher sling and the weekend before in Portland a friend gave me a C. versacolor sling.

The wife and I were both bitten one night in bed by the American version of those. Excruciatingly painful! One of the few times my wife has just cussed and cussed at something!

The horrid kings are pretty placid. As long as you don’t startle or annoy them you can handle them pretty easily.

I have to admit, the name REAAALLLY suggests the opposite here :joy: :joy:
