Thank you so much! I can tell he’s going to be my husband’s favorite. He actually picked him out with my daughter before I came up to the table. They had no idea he was one of the morphs I was looking for! We would always just go through MM and pick out some that are really pretty and I made myself a list that had morphs and combos all 3 of us liked and this little dude had it all!
We got him for a steal too! And we almost brought home a snow conda too but even with the amazing deal on him I had to walk (run) away because it would have put us over budget. Plus I only had one setup ready.
I have a feeling we’re going to be adding a different suborder of squamata…maybe by January. I’m not comfortable bringing one home yet because I haven’t researched it as thoroughly as I would like but I’m thrilled because for once it was my husband asking if we could think about getting one. He’s very specific with what he wants This is coming from a man who was terrified of snakes and many other reptiles until I talked him into getting our first snake!
Ok first. What’s a squamata? But I digress! CONGRATULATIONS on a spectacular little hoggie! Astro is simply a stunning little guy! You will love it when he or if he gets a little hissy with you! The hoggie bluff is so adorable!
I’m so glad you finally found the one you were looking for Gina, and finally got to bring home a new baby! I can’t wait for Astro stories. Remember, your home is now his “TURF”!
David! Congratulations! What a gorgeous new snakey. I love the blushing and the unique looking alien heads on him. I mean, the temptation of a Black Friday deal really sent you over the edge and I don’t think I could refuse that sale either. I know he will be very happy with you and your wife! Glad you got your tarantulas too! These darn reptile expos are like when I go to Walmart- I go in for 2 things and leave with waaayyy more lol
Enjoy them all! And we will be on the lookout for more pics once he’s settled in!
I tried too hard to make it sound like I knew what I was talking about. I was trying to be all mysterious with our next reptile so I hopped on the internet to search up a less weird-sounding way of saying we might get a “non-snake reptile” and came across the animal kingdom terminology lol. Squamata is part of traditional scientific classification and I think it is more or less the group of scaled reptiles like snakes, lizards and amphisbaena. I hope I paraphrased that correctly. Link is below if anyone wants to see what I’m attempting to explain. https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Squamata
Astro is a WHOLE MOOD He already asserted his dominance…huffing and puffing, bluff striking and normal drama noodle behavior. It’s so endearing! He is the new boss of the house. Sorry, Hubby. You have been dethroned and demoted and you now serve Overlord Astro
Very nice, very very nice! That’s quite a nice Black Friday deal you got, David. Pretty good bonus on top of the tarantulas you went to get and also got. Not gonna lie, I’m jealous about all the pickups.
