. Now that took me a minute but I got it! Very clever @caryl! ![]()
Oooo! Fun name change, Jess. And yes, very clever @caryl!
Little ones are 2.5 weeks and the heaviest is now 3.1g! A couple have doubled their birth weight and are gaining about half a gram a week. I will be separating them into two groups at some point this week as it’s pretty clear about half the clutch is smaller than their chunkier siblings.
I hope to see more pics soon. ![]()
That’s still so small ![]()

I miss seeing tiny baby noodles, I hope they continue to grow and thrive for you ![]()
I don’t have any really good photos at the moment, but here’s an up close look at baby number nine, who is still a teensy 2.4g.
D’awwww. So beautiful.
Awwwww! Little Niner looks like a curly cue pose almost! ![]()
Niner! I like the name, if it sticks. It shows optimism that he/she will go from 2.4 grams to 9 grams in no time ![]()
That’s a totally precious baby! I am tickled to hear that they’re doing well. I am afraid I wouldn’t be getting much done but watching baby garters lol.
Have many chores to do today, but hoping to get the garters split up and everyone fed. The weather here has been wild, I got nothing done yesterday as the heat index was 112ºF and just staying upright after running errands all day was a chore.
Oof. Yeah I would just be a useless lump in the shade with that kinda index.
Hope it cools down some soon
Hey, nice colourway on your yarn there! What gauge did you say it was? ![]()
Hope it cools down for you. Climate change really doing a number on our summers these days. :C
I am hoping so, too. We’re down to just a heat advisory today versus yesterday’s extreme heat advisory, but it’s still hot. Unfortunately we’re getting into the warmest and muggiest bit of the summer here. Not having central air makes it that much worse, I’ve basically just holed up in my room with my portable AC blasting.
We’re definitely at a medium to bulky. ![]()
Doesn’t help the weather when you’re in the Midwest, specifically farm country. That corn sweat bumps up the humidity. I would appreciate just one mild summer.
Ohhh yeah and those sunny days are punishing in the prairies. Hang in there; you know what they say, hydrate or die-drate
It’s funny but I LOVE the heat. Went for a 20-min walk yesterday hauling someone’s heavy luggage in jeans, during humid 95F. I only felt too hot for about 30sec or so right before onset the luggage down. Haha. I know I’m a weirdo ![]()
I can barely tolerate cold at all, though. 72F with A/C and I need a sweater.
Here in IN high was 95 with heat index in north of 100. Thankfully we do have central air but we keep it 72, 73 just to give it a rest because anything lower and it runs continuously. There’s no such thing as a mild summer in the sweltering Midwest! ![]()
@snakesofshadowlake I’m sorry but I believe you are an odd duck wearing jeans while toting heavy luggage for 20 minutes and loving it. In other words, You’re
Nuts!

Currently working on sterilizing the second kritter keeper to get the garters split up. I had so many plans to get caught up on chores tonight but the weather and my body said the most I’m getting done is this and feeding.
It’s official, we’ve got one group of linguine and one group of fettuccine.
Edit: I fed everyone, and it has become quite clear why the itty bitty kids are so small. Both enclosures got two chopped large pinkies about half an hour ago. The larger kids only have about a third of one left. The little ones have what equates to a full one.
Ok but little Niner is Niner to me! ![]()
